Abnormal Dropping Guide
I have taken photos of my own birds' droppings and have put together a guide. Hopefully it can help others out there. Sorry the photos are in English, if someone wants to translate them, that would be great!
These photos are from my tiels, my lovebirds, and my budgie (RIP). A lot of the illness one are from Munch when he was very very ill.

Re: Abnormal Dropping Guide
Thanks Casey to have shared this document with us;
I believe it can be an useful guideline for understanding if our birds are hiding some troubles;
The birds hide very well the diseases but the feces can provide us the first signals of the diseases;
This is really a great thread!!

Is it possible to translate the text in the photos to Italian for those who cannot read English?

If the feces are watery it's always possible to do a check of the feces.
The vet can check the presense of bacteria or virus through specific exams.
The Casey's document is a guideline and you can compare the feces of your birds with the pics of this document;
If the droppings are abnormal just as the above pics then it's necessary to take the bird to veterinary.
Re: Abnormal Dropping Guide
I agree with Marc, if the bird has continuous watery droppings for an extended period of time, you should see the vet. Is it hot where your birds are?

I suspected that he was Mango
Why do you have asked about the hot? can the hot generate troubles about watery droppings?
Is it possible that the hot pushes the birds to drink more water than usually and after they produce liquid poop?
Is this the reason that you have asked about the hot or there are other causes?
Re: Abnormal Dropping Guide
Yes if the bird is hot it stresses them out and can cause watery droppings. When we were going through a 100 degree ferenheit heatwave all y birds had watery droppings because it was very warm in their room.
Last summer too one of our cockatiels had watery droppings from the heat

Ok I have understood; 100°F are about 38°C..oh my gosh!!
What did you do for helping them? did you provide fresh water, a/c or what for helping them?
Re: Abnormal Dropping Guide
Mist bottle, they got a good soaking bath every day whether they wanted it or not. They got fresh water too and I tried to keep the roo m as cool as possible

Re: Abnormal Dropping Guide
Could still be the heat if it's been warmer than usual lately where you are. But it is best to have a vet check In case it might not be the heat.
